Sharing
This page covers the Settings → Share Settings page. It configures sharing behavior when publishing an album pushes a post to the DNN Journal (the social feed). For the share buttons on the front-end album detail page, see Social Settings.
Basic Options
- Share Enable — check Journal to enable pushing: when an album is published, a post can be published to the DNN Journal at the same time so site members see the new album in their feed. It works together with the Share (Post to journal) option in the album editor; visibility scope and groups can be chosen when pushing.
Post Journal
Controls which content appears in the Journal post:
| Option | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Display Title | Whether the post shows the title | Checked |
| Share Title | The share title (required) | — |
| Display Summary | Whether the post shows the summary | — |
| Summary character number | Number of characters of the summary to show | — |
| Display Image | Whether the post shows an image | Checked |
| Image Width | Image width in pixels | — |

Click Update at the bottom of the page to save.
Version note
This feature depends on the Share panel in the album editor; in some builds (e.g. early 8.x) that panel may be hidden — what's available depends on your build's interface.
AddThis Settings (8.x)
Version 8.x provides a separate AddThis Settings page in the Settings menu. Based on the AddThis service, it displays a third-party sharing tool on the album detail page and lets you register a profile ID for in-depth social traffic analytics. Main options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Sharing tool enable | Whether the AddThis sharing tool is enabled |
| Choose the sharing tool | Choose the sharing tool style |
| Custom sharing tool | Custom sharing tool markup — you can paste any AddThis sharing tool code directly |
| AddThis profile ID | Register for free at AddThis and enter your profile ID to receive in-depth social traffic analytics |
For help, visit AddThis Support. The page does not exist in 7.x and earlier versions.
