Comment Settings

Comment Settings consist of two panels: Basic Settings and Disqus Settings.

Basic Settings

Enable CommentYes / No — turn the comment feature on or off (on by default)
Require login to commentYes / No — require login before commenting (No by default)
Enable Comment NotificationYes / No — email notification for new comments (on by default)
Number of Comments per pageComments per page in the list (default 16)
Comment Initial StateInitial status of new comments: Pending / Approved (default) / Spam / Recycle

Anti-spam recommendations

  • Set the initial state to Pending so comments appear only after review
  • Enable reCAPTCHA in Captcha Settings
  • Mark spam comments in bulk in All Comments

Disqus Settings

Comment ServiceNormal — xBlog built-in comments (default) / Disqus — Disqus-hosted comments
Disqus ShortnameYour Disqus site shortname, required when using Disqus

Using Disqus

Register at disqus.com and create a site first, then fill in its Shortname. After switching to Disqus, comment-related features are managed on disqus.com.
