Installation & Upgrade
What are the system requirements for DNNGalleryPro?
- DNN platform: 07.00.00 and later require DNN 9.5.0+; 06.x supports DNN 8.0+
- Browsers: modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge
- Permissions: installing the module requires superuser (host) permissions
How do I upgrade to a new version?
Simply install the new package over the old one via Host → Extensions → Install Extension Wizard — data, effect settings and the media library are preserved. We recommend backing up via Import & Export first.
Can I place multiple DNNGalleryPro modules on one page?
Yes. Each instance has its own effect, parameters and data, independent of the others.
Effects & Data
How many effects are included? How do I choose?
The current version includes 24 built-in effects. See the Effect Overview for tips on choosing one.
Can I switch between effects freely?
Yes — switch anytime in Effect List. Common fields of existing items (title, description, images) carry over automatically.
How do I add items to an effect?
Open All New (or the Add New button in All Items) and fill in the form. Fields vary slightly per effect — see Adding Items.
How is the display order controlled?
By default items follow the manual order in All Items; you can also configure Sort by in the module's Data Filter to sort by date or title.
How do I schedule content to appear or expire?
Set Start / Disable times on items and check Filter Start Time / Filter End Time in the module's Data Filter — content appears and hides automatically.
Where do images come from?
Two sources: an external URL, or upload/pick from the Media Library. The library can also synchronize existing site folders.
Can multiple instances share the same data?
Yes. Check Copy Of Other Module in the module settings and pick a source portal and module — see Data Source Sharing.
Can data be backed up or migrated?
Yes. Export items to XML via Import & Export and import them into another instance.
Effect Configuration
The GoogleMap effect shows no map?
Google Maps v3 requires an API Key. Apply for a Maps JavaScript API key on Google Cloud Platform and fill it into the effect's API Key parameter.
How do I add data to the Chart effect?
Each item is a dataset. First set the X-axis labels in the effect's Labels parameter (e.g. months), then fill values and colors per item — see Effect 19 Chart.
Where are UnoSlider's transitions configured?
In the effect's Preset parameter (multi-select from 40+ presets); it also ships 12 themes. See Effect 12 UnoSlider.
How do I make the CookieNotice re-appear for everyone?
Change the Version parameter (e.g. 1 → 2) — consent is remembered per version, so all visitors see the notice again. See Effect 25 CookieNotice.
License & Purchase
What license types are available?
Three: Standard (single portal), Professional (all portals in one DNN installation) and Enterprise (all portals and all DNN installations). See Activating the License.
How do I activate my license?
After adding the module to a page, open the License page to get the Machine Key, then send the Invoice ID, Machine Key and your username to [email protected]. See Activating the License.
My license stopped working after moving servers. What now?
The Machine Key is bound to the server. Send the new Machine Key and the original Invoice ID to [email protected] and we will reissue the license.
Do I get free upgrades after purchase?
Free updates for 2 years from the purchase date. Please contact us after that.
