Installation Guide ​

This guide walks you through installing the Glend theme and its dependent modules on a DNN site. The whole process has 6 steps: raise the upload limit → install the theme and modules → apply the theme → set the theme and container → initialize the theme → upload the resource files.

Requirements ​

Before installing Glend, make sure your environment meets these requirements:

  • DNN Platform 9.8.0 or higher
  • A working DNN site (if you need help installing DNN itself, see the DNN documentation)

Installation Steps ​

1. Raise the upload size limit ​

The theme and module packages are large, so first raise the upload limit:

  1. Log in to your DNN site as a superuser (Host)
  2. Go to Settings > Security > More
  3. Select the MORE SECURITY SETTINGS tab
  4. Change Max Upload Size to 28 (MB) or higher

2. Install the theme and modules ​

Open Extensions > Install Extension and install the following files from the download package, in order:

  • Glend-theme_x.x.x_PA.zip — the theme package
  • DNNGo_ThemePluginPro_x.x.x.PA.zip — the core module (required)
  • The remaining modules (LayerGalleryPro, FormBuilder, DNNGalleryPro, xBlog, xEvent) as needed

Install the core module first

Always install DNNGo ThemePluginPro before any other module — the others depend on it and will fail without it.

3. Apply the theme ​

  1. Go to Manage > Themes
  2. Select and apply the glend theme

4. Set the theme and container ​

  1. Set both Site Theme and Edit Theme to glend - index

5. Initialize the theme ​

When using the theme on a new site for the first time, run a one-time initialization:

  1. Log in as a superuser
  2. Create a blank page
  3. Set the page's Theme to glend, Layout to index, and Container to No Title

  1. Click the Theme Option button on the left side of the page

6. Upload the resource files ​

The Content Builder module ships with a large number of resource files and preset templates that must be uploaded to the server via FTP.

Find the ContentBuilder folder in the download package and upload it via FTP to your site's Portals/_default directory. There are many files, so the upload takes a while — please be patient. Once it finishes, Content Builder is ready to use.
